Mother’s Day 2027 is Sunday, May 9. The one Tallahassee Mother’s Day brunch with a track record on its own website is at Amicus Brewing at Old City Waterworks, 717 S. Gadsden St., which has sold tickets for a buffet brunch with two seatings in both 2024 and 2025. For an outing, the ornamental gardens at Maclay Gardens draw busy spring weekends.

Brunch

Amicus Brewing Ventures and Blackberry Mimosa held their Mother’s Day Brunch at the historic Old City Waterworks on May 11, 2025, and May 12, 2024, according to the brewery’s event pages. Both years had two seatings, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m., with a buffet that included shrimp and grits, smoked wings and salmon dip, and a signature blackberry mimosa for each guest. In 2025 children 3 and under did not need a ticket. Tickets were sold ahead, and the 2024 brunch sold out. The 2027 brunch is not announced yet.

Gardens and outings

• Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, 3540 Thomasville Road: ornamental gardens first planted in 1923, with brick walkways, reflecting pools and the historic Maclay House. The park is open 8 a.m. to sundown and the gardens 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Garden admission is charged during the spring bloom season, and the Friends advise arriving early on busy spring weekends.
• Goodwood Museum and Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road: historic house and gardens; check its events page in April for spring events.
• Tallahassee Museum, 3945 Museum Drive: open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, with the Trail Break Café open for lunch on weekends.

Gift markets

• Tallahassee Farmers Market, 2904 Kerry Forest Parkway, Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon, year-round: produce, pantry goods and cut flowers. Saturday, May 8, 2027, is the day before Mother’s Day.
