Easter in Tallahassee 2027: egg hunts, brunch and services

Easter 2027 falls on Sunday, March 28, a week earlier than in 2026. The City of Tallahassee’s two free egg hunts are the big community events: the 67th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Myers Park for children 10 and under, and the Eggs-traordinary Easter Egg Hunt for children with special needs at Messer Park. In 2026 both were on the Saturday before Easter, April 4; the 2027 dates are not out yet.

City egg hunts (2026 details)

From the city’s 2026 announcement:

The Eggs-traordinary hunt ran in sessions in 2026:

• 9:15 a.m.: children with a range of abilities, with their siblings.
• 9:30 a.m.: children with visual impairments, who find eggs by sound.
• 10 a.m.: children who use mobility devices, hunting magnetic eggs on the rubberized field.
• 10:15 a.m.: children with sensory sensitivities, in a quiet, calm setting.

At Myers Park, interactive play ran from 1 to 2:30 p.m. before the hunt. Both hunts were free and open to the public, and the Easter Bunny appeared. Bring your own basket or bag.

In 2026 the city announced the hunts in its newsroom on March 30, five days before.

Church services

Tallahassee churches post their own Holy Week and Easter schedules. One example from last year: New Creation Church of Tallahassee, 2002 Williams Road, held a 6 a.m. sunrise service, an 8 a.m. Seven Last Words of Christ service and a 10 a.m. worship celebration on Easter Sunday 2026, according to its event page.
