Last checked 2026-10-10. This page is updated each year. Facts come from the City of Tallahassee’s camps page and aquatics page. Where the city still shows 2026 dates, the page says so; 2027 dates are added as the city posts them.

Summer 2027 starts after Leon County Schools’ last day, Thursday, May 27. The City of Tallahassee’s first summer date is already set: the PlayCamp at The Sue lottery, Monday, April 5, 2027, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., in person at the center. Online registration for the city’s other camps opened in early April in 2026. The neighborhood pools are closed for the season and reopen in spring 2027.

PlayCamp, started in 1966, is the city’s oldest fee-based camp, near Midtown in the Lafayette Park area. Its 2027 sessions: May 31 to June 11; June 14-25; June 28 to July 9 (closed July 5); July 12-24; and July 27-30. Because it is a lottery, arrival time on April 5 does not affect your chances; results come the next day.

Summer Playground Camps have limited space at each site and are paid week by week; a spot is not held until the week is paid. Families using the public assistance discount must register through a community center, not online: Jack McLean 850-891-2505, Jake Gaither 850-891-3940, Lawrence-Gregory 850-891-3910, LeVerne Payne 850-891-3930, Palmer Munroe 850-891-2569, Walker-Ford 850-891-3970.

Fees for every camp are on the city’s camps page.
