State report card

Florida grades every public school A to F each year. The grade is the share of possible points a school earns on state test results and learning gains and, for middle and high schools, acceleration measures and, for high schools, the graduation rate, according to the Florida Department of Education.

School year Grade
2025-26 B (63% of possible points)
2024-25 A
2023-24 B

From the state’s 2026 school grades file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:

  • English language arts: 65%
  • Math: 65%
  • Science: 72%
  • Third grade English language arts: 75%
  • Middle school acceleration: 85%

The full report card, with results by grade and student group, is on the state’s Florida school report cards site. It is an interactive dashboard; the figures above come from the downloadable grades file.

Admission

Admission is by lottery, as Florida law requires, the SAS Foundation’s apply page says. Each child needs a separate application, there is no cost to apply, and applications stay on file for three years. Siblings of current students and children of staff get priority for openings. The kindergarten lottery is held in early March; applications must be in by 11:59 p.m. March 1. The school has room for 450 students and more applicants than seats.

Classes are multi-age (K-1, 2-3, 4-5 and a 6-8 middle school), each led by two certified teachers, with a project-based curriculum built on the arts and sciences, according to the SAS Foundation.

Leon County Schools says charter schools are schools of choice and that families should contact the school directly; its charter schools page links all four Leon County charters.
