City youth soccer and basketball sign-ups close Wednesday, Oct. 21. Fees run $33 to $50, with 75% off for families on public assistance. Dates and sites.
Families have until Wednesday, Oct. 21, to sign children up for the City of Tallahassee’s winter youth soccer and basketball leagues at the regular price. The city announced winter registration in a release on Oct. 14.
Late sign-ups for both are taken through Jan. 2, only where space allows and with a $10 late fee, according to the city’s winter sports page.
What each league costs
Fees are from the city’s winter sports page.
| Program | Ages | Regular fee | Late fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Youth soccer | 4 to 17 | $44 | $54 |
| Youth basketball | 8 to 17 | $50 | $60 |
| Lil Hoopsters basketball | 4 to 7 | $33 | Not listed |
Families receiving public assistance can get a 75% discount on basketball, and soccer costs $11 for them. Both need a current Notice of Action letter from the Florida Department of Children and Families, with coverage dates, emailed to COTParks@Talgov.com, the city said.
A parent who volunteers as a team’s head coach pays no registration fee for their own child.
